THE TRIX
Another Valdosta, Ga band
John Nichols and Charles Oliver formed the Trix band in December of 1959 and added Ivey Plair, Roger Martin-trumpet, and Bill Golden-piano. The band played for jr. high school functions. John used a 360 Rickenbacker and Charles a Supro. John left in his Jr. year of school for Gordon Military College in Barnesville, GA where he formed a band called The Playboys. After graduation he returned to attend Valdosta State College and joined Ivey Plair's new band, Ivey's League. Charles was at the time playing rhythm guitar for another band, the Blazer's.
